A project that has been years in the making is picking up steam, as work is set to begin on building a new shower house at Marr Park next week.
Executive Director for the Washington County Conservation Board, Zach Rozmus, tells KCII their construction plans. “Starting next week, we’ll do all the disconnects for the plumbing and electrical in the current shower house and then begin the demolition process. As soon as that old structure is torn down we are gonna begin with construction on the new one.”
Construction will continue this fall as long as weather permits. While this work will close the shower house on the north side of the park approximately one-month early, the goal is to have the new one completed by May of 2024. Washington County Conservation is working primarily with Myers Construction out of Mediapolis, with other local contractors involved as well.
