The next installment of the Washington Writers’ Workshop hosted by the Washington Public Library will be this Saturday and will feature local novelist Karen Musser Nortman. Nortman spent 22 years as a secondary social studies teacher and 18 years as a test specialist for ACT (formerly American College Testing) before retiring in 2011. Since then, she has written and published nineteen books in three series: the Frannie Shoemaker Campground Mysteries, the Time Travel Trailer series, and the Mystery Sisters series. She and her husband camped for years in a 30-foot trailer and traveled through over 25 states in their retirement. When he passed away in 2020, Nortman sold the trailer and bought a 25-foot motorhome. She has continued to camp with friends and a women’s group, the Midwest Glampers. She also enjoys reading, gardening, and quilting. She is the mother of three with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Join for a presentation from Nortman during the first hour and a workshop of participant’s submissions during the second hour. This event is free and open to the public.
