A project four years in the making was on full display last week, as the new Keota Pool & Aquatic Center was shown off for the first time. Major donors and other individuals who helped bring the pool to the community were recognized at a special event on Thursday evening.

Once the donors got their first look, a “soft opening” for the Aquatic Center was held for the public on Sunday afternoon. Guests had the opportunity to try out the pool and splash pad, which include amenities for kids of all ages. Lifeguards and other Aquatic Center staff meanwhile were able to use this chance to prepare for the pool’s official grand opening next year.

The Keota Pool & Aquatic Center is located on the south side of town off South Fulton Street near the park. It was primarily constructed through Spectra Build out of Wapello and One Design & Engineering LLC out of Madison, Wisconsin.
