Knoll Ridge Golf Course in North English is the spot to be Tuesday for a 16 school cross country meet, including six teams from the KCII listening area.

The Hillcrest Academy Ravens will be in action tonight. The Ravens last ran Thursday at Waterworks Park in Fairfield. The Hillcrest girls didn’t post a team score but were led by an individual championship from Marie Yoder with her time of 21:12. The Raven boys were eighth in the team standings with 166 points. Micah Gerber was the leader in 37th at 19:27.

The Highland Huskies also ran in Fairfield nearly a week ago. The Highland girls did not post a team score, but had the top individual finish for the Huskies with Siena Stanerson taking 49th in 24:50. The Highland boys were ninth of nine schools with a team score of 220. Top Dog for the Huskies was Jacob Schneider 123rd in 23:47.

This is the season opener for the Keota Eagles who return Owen Morris from last year’s team, the lone Eagle to compete on the cross country course in 2022. He was 37th at the SICL Championship meet a year ago.

The Lone Tree Lions will be at North English tonight. They last ran at Fairfield Thursday and did not post a boys or girls team score. Individual leaders included Vivian Zaruba 33rd in 24:04 and Brock Nebergal 68th in 20:54.

The Sigourney Savages were in action at Davis County Thursday. The Savages didn’t have any team scores, but individual leaders included Troy Klett sixth for the boys in 19:31 and Addison Yates 15th for the girls in 23:56.

WACO will also compete tonight. The Warriors last ran at Keokuk on the 31st. No team scores for the Warriors but individual leaders included Keiran Luitjens 12th for the Warrior boys in 19:43 and Justine Lynn 22nd for the WACO girls in 28:20.

Joining those teams on the course tonight are Belle Plaine, Durant, HLV, Iowa Valley, North Mahaska, the No. 8  in Class 1A Pekin Panther boys and their No. 9 ranked girls, Tri-County, Wapello and Wilton. Action starts at 4:30p.m. in North English.
