The Washington Demons came up short in a conference volleyball match with Fairfield at home last night. Washington started the evening strong, pulling away in the first set to win 25-15. But Fairfield won a close second set 25-23, and that frame would prove to be the turning point in the match, as the Trojans took the next two sets from the Demons, each by a score of 25-18, to win the match.
With the loss, Washington has lost seven of their last eight to fall to 1-2 in the Southeast Conference and 4-11 overall. The Demons will next play Saturday in the West Liberty Invitational.
