Thursday night, a pair of KCII area volleyball rivals step on the floor with one another when Hillcrest Academy visits Columbus for a contest with the Wildcats. The Ravens are 5-6 this season, 1-3 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference, following a four set loss in Kalona to Winfield-Mt. Union on Tuesday night. This year, the Ravens have 395 digs, 187 kills, 162 assists, 33 blocks, 66 aces and an 88% serve efficiency. Individual leaders include Claire Withrow with 156 assists, Malia Yoder with 113 digs and 57 kills, and Kylee Statler with 22 aces and 15 blocks.

Columbus is 2-12 this year and in search of their first Superconference win through three tries. The Wildcats were beaten at Highland in four sets on Tuesday night. This year the Wildcats have 361 digs, 149 kills, 145 assists, 11 blocks and 52 aces with a 90% serve efficiency. Individual leaders include Daniela Diaz with 126 assists, Lily Coil at 108 digs, 54 kills, and five blocks, along with Kennedy Woepking and Jocelyn Hernandez each with 11 aces.

These two teams have split their last eight meetings with the Wildcats getting the win by sweep in 2022 and the Raven’s last win coming in 2021. Action starts tonight at 5:30 in Columbus Junction.
