The Winfield-Mt. Union Community School District is one of many in the KCII listening area celebrating its homecoming next week.
Beginning on Sunday, September 17 with Boom Night, students will play powder puff volleyball and football at the school. The WMU Dance Team will perform, and the King and Queen Coronation will be held. This year’s court includes Princess Addysin Little, Prince Cohen Nelling, queen candidates Audrie Gipple, Tessa Huston, Afton Wilkerson, Mariana Hagmeier, and Maggie Hutton, and king candidates Cole Milks, Gabe Hemsworth, Cam Buffington, Abram Edwards, and Eli Miller. Boom Night kicks off at 5 p.m.
As the school week starts, students and staff will be participating in spirit days. Monday is Pajama Day, Tuesday is USA Day, Wednesday is Wacky Wednesday or mismatched clothing, Thursday is Beach Day, and Friday is Spirit Day.
Friday will also be the Pep Assembly at 2:30 p.m. Varsity football follows that night at 7, as the Wolves take on English Valleys. Homecoming festivities are capped off Friday by the Junior High/High School Dance from 9-11 p.m.
