Winfield residents and history buffs have a unique opportunity on Sunday, as the Winfield Historical Society is hosting a Civil War Show and Tell presentation.
President and Founder of the Winfield Historical Society, Judy Rawson, tells KCII more about the event. “We’re lucky to have Michael Huston give a presentation. It’s gonna be a show and tell. He has lots of memorabilia, lots of pictures that he’s going to bring and artifacts. He’s very knowledgeable. His enthusiasm is contagious. He really knows the subject. He passes the word around in a real interesting way. He’s got lots to show and tell, and if you’re at all interested in history, in the Civil War, this is a must see event. I can speak enough about how interesting he can make this subject.”
The Civil War Show and Tell will have a local element, as items and pictures from Henry County will be shared. It begins on Sunday, September 17 at 2 p.m. in the Winfield Veterans Building. Guests can attend for a free-will donation and refreshments will be served. All funds received will go towards the Winfield Historical Museum Building Renovation Project.
