At the Washington City Council meeting on Tuesday, the council heard a presentation from two representatives of City Point Church, Sam Schield Executive Pastor, and Tony Widdel Lead Pastor. Here is part of their presentation, “We meet at the High School on Sundays; we have offices on the north side of the town square. We have met with Deanna, Kelsey, and Sally two times, and we talked to all of them about some land options in the city. And after talking with them, very preliminary conversations they advised that we should come to the council next, so here we are to talk about the option of the city-owned land that was Bell land over by the fairgrounds. Of the nineteen, we are interested in purchasing five of those acres to build a permanent facility someday for our church.” The Council had many questions for the leaders, including the origination of the church, and look forward to continuing discussions about the future of City Point Church in Washington.
