The Keota Eagles suffered a conference volleyball loss Thursday at Iowa Valley, falling in straight sets. The Tigers took the first set 25-19 and fended off the Eagles in similar fashion the rest of the way, winning the next two frames 25-16 and 25-22.
Senior Cassie Swantz was once again an all-around force for Keota, leading the team with six kills and adding three assists and 10 digs. Middle hitters Kennedy Jackson and Emily Sheetz combined for nine kills and two blocked shots, while junior Kimberly Clarahan led the back-row defense with 12 digs and junior setter Lainey Swanson had seven assists and six digs.
The loss drops the Eagles to 1-3 in the South Iowa Cedar League and 6-6 overall. Keota returns to their home court in their next match Monday against Belle Plaine.
