The WACO Warrior football team made homecoming a happy one in Wayland by defeating Easton Valley 56-14 Friday night at Roth Field. WACO raced out to a 37-6 lead after a quarter of play and never looked back.
The Warriors were led on offense by junior running back Louden Huisenga, who ran for 149 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries. Senior Reece Oswald carried the ball six times for 51 yards and also caught a 31-yard TD pass, finishing with three total scores.
The WACO defense slowed down one of the most explosive offenses in the state, allowing just 146 yards. Defensive lineman Chase Waterhouse finished with four tackles for loss and a sack, while fellow senior Colton Leichty recovered a fumble to go with three tackles for loss and a sack.
The Warriors are now 4-1. WACO takes on rival New London this coming week in the KCII Area Football Game of the Week. You can hear the game starting at 6:30 this Friday night on KCIIradio.com.
