Two Columbus Junction males were arrested following an incident last Saturday. At approximately 9:21 p.m. the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 1100 block of Cedar Street in Fredonia for a report of a juvenile male subject with a firearm at a gender reveal party. A physical altercation ensued and three males left in a black BMW SUV.
Officers performed a felony stop on the black BMW at the intersection of Highway 92 and County Road G40. Three adult males and three firearms were located in the vehicle. Upon further investigation, it was determined that only two of the subjects were carrying firearms at the time of the incident. One of the intoxicated males was a prohibited person from being able to carry one.
After a full investigation, 23-year-old Tijon Malik Harrill, was taken into custody and charged with prohibited possessor of an offensive weapon due to a previous domestic violence charge, a class D felony, carrying a weapon while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor, public intoxication, a simple misdemeanor, and open container of a passenger in a vehicle. Also taken into custody was 28-year-old Kevante’ Demetreus Andrews for carrying a weapon while intoxicated, a serious misdemeanor, disorderly contact of fighting in a public street, a simple misdemeanor, and public intoxication, also a simple misdemeanor. Both subjects were held on $1,500 cash-only bonds.
