The Highland Huskies will try to get their first win of the football season and spoil a homecoming celebration when they travel to Pekin tomorrow night. Highland fell 55-0 at home to Columbus last week and is trying to snap a 14-game losing streak overall,

The Huskies will look to move the ball with their rushing attack. Junior Logan McFarland has rushed for 186 yards and a touchdown on 31 carries, while quarterback Sage Hartley-Norman has piled up a team-high 232 yards on 64 rushes. McFarland has also been the leader of the Highland defense, posting a team-high 40 tackles, seven-and-a-half tackles for loss and a sack.

The Huskies will try to power past a Pekin squad that started the season 3-0 but has lost back-to-back games. Junior quarterback Will Adam has run for 319 yards and five TDs, while his top receiver, junior Robert Brown, has caught 16 passes for almost 300 yards and four scores. Highland had won three straight against the Panthers before last season’s 35-8 defeat. The Huskies look to get the road victory tomorrow evening starting at 7.
