The Fall Festival is underway in Kalona today, with music, food, and fun scheduled through Saturday. While the celebration is also a chance to highlight the City’s rich history, six individuals will be honored tomorrow for the work they’ve done to make the community successful today.

The Community Awards are given annually at the Fall Festival. This year, they will go to Janet Ferry and Marilyn Yoder for their research efforts in the Wahl Museum’s completion, Tim Rouse for helping lead the Student-Built Duplex project this summer, Amy Schulte for her continued work with the YMCA, and Karen Christner and Colette Yoder for their community volunteerism. Each recipient will receive an engraved clock for their services to Kalona.

The 2023 Kalona Community Awards will be presented Saturday at 2 p.m. on the main stage at the Fall Festival. The Fall Festival continues through tomorrow until 5 p.m. at the Kalona Historical Village.
