On Saturday, October 14, the City of Kalona is holding its annual Fall Cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon.

There will be no pickups on this day, as dumpsters will be located at the City Shop at 711 A Avenue. Anyone dropping off items should use the east gate to enter. Bulk building materials are prohibited due to limited dumpster space. Other materials banned from the landfill include yard waste, tires, computer and TV monitors, appliances, oil, and lead acid batteries. These items must be properly recycled and handled through programs offered at the Iowa City Landfill and Recycling Center.
