The No. 8 in Class 3A Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team wrapped up the regular season Thursday night in the championship rounds of the River Valley Conference tournament at Northeast Goose Lake High School. The Hawks, the three seed from the south, opened the day against the second seeded Monticello Panthers from the north. The Panthers got the win in three 20-22, 21-18 and 15-13. Mid-Prairie bounced back to close action with a win, sweeping Bellevue, 28-26 and 25-20. Leaders on the night for the Golden Hawks included Jovi Evans with 40 assists, 28 digs, 26 kills and three aces. Dakota Mitchell had 37 digs, Avery Helmuth 31 assists and 11 digs, Callie Huber 21 kills and a pair of blocks, Harper Pacha 19 digs, 17 kills and a pair of blocks and Lanee Duwa 17 digs. Mid-Prairie is 29-10 on the year and will next take the floor Tuesday against Saydel in the opening round of the 3A regional tournament at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman.
