Washington Superintendent Willie Stone gave his report at the School Board meeting on Wednesday, “We’re still better than we were last year, this month we did fall behind a little bit in areas. Overall we’re still better though with the older group. We’re up to eight students per day still. By the end of the year that will calculate out to 9,000 student hours.” A main focus for the board this year is chronic absenteeism, and finding ways to combat that.
