Join the City of Washington and the Washington Chamber of Commerce for the Wellness Park playground grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 20th, starting at 2:30 pm. The Wellness Park Playground will be open to the public and is ADA-compliant with rubber safe-fall surface. The project was funded by a $150,000 Riverboat Foundation grant, a $100,000 match from the city, $30,000 from the hotel/motel tax committee, $50,000 from the local Kiwanis clubs, and various other monetary contributions from area businesses and organizations. The total cost of the playground added up to a total of around $350,000. The ribbon cutting was rescheduled due to weather on October 13th.
