The Winfield-Mount Union Wolves saw their volleyball season come to a close last night in a home defeat against Danville in the Class 1A Region 8 tournament. WMU was swept, falling in straight sets, 25-15, 25-18 and 25-19.

The Wolves were led by senior outside hitter Audrie Gipple, who had three kills, two blocked shots and 11 digs. Senior libero Tessa Huston added a serving ace and 16 digs, while senior setter Aurey Meeker dished out eight assists to go with three kills, three aces and seven digs. Winfield-Mount Union finishes the season with a record of 17-14 and will be graduating seven seniors, including Gipple, Huston, Meeker, Lily Freeman, Kailey Neil, Mariana Piper and Jessi Renken.
