A pair of local volleyball teams lost in the Class 1A Region 7 quarterfinals last night. The WACO Warriors and Keota Eagles were both defeated in straight sets on the road, with WACO falling at Central City, 25-16, 25-8 and 25-12; and Keota being beaten at North Tama, 25-8, 25-9 and 25-5.

The season ends for the Warriors with a record of 18-13, while the Eagles conclude the campaign with a mark of 10-14. Keota will lose the one senior in Cassandra Swantz, while WACO will graduate Emma Wagler, Marie Farmer, Meredith Roth, Zoey Dennler, Jessica Unternahrer, Halle Sherman and Taylor Sines.
