Tomorrow, the Ainsworth Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its 1st Annual Side by Side Ride fundraiser.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, then all participants will depart from the Ainsworth Fire Department at 10 a.m. Stops will be made at Eagles Nest in Coppock, Commanders in Brighton, Wagon Wheel in Washington, the Riverside VFW, and Leroy Browns in Ainsworth. The event is open to anyone who owns a side by side, or other street-legal vehicle.
Cost is $15 per person. This includes a raffle ticket and poker run hand, with a variety of prizes given out. Fire Chief, Waylon Schultz, tells KCII what the department plans to do with the funds received. “We have some pretty big projects coming up at the Fire Department. In the next 3-4 years we’re gonna have to replace our engine. It’s getting close to 20 years old. So some of the funds will go towards that and then also just general equipment. We’re always raising money to get better equipment and to keep our equipment up to date so we can help our citizens of our community and then also the surrounding areas throughout Washington County and Louisa County.”
