Last Monday, members of the Mid-Prairie FFA attended the Greenhand Fire Up Conference in Cedar Rapids. The Golden Hawks joined 38 chapters and approximately 760 members from the southeast district.

The Greenhand Fire Up Conference features leadership-focused workshops that provide first-year high school members, or greenhands, a sneak peek at the opportunities that FFA Holds, while also giving them a chance to meet and interact with state and district officers.

Mid-Prairie members in attendance included Lillian Boller, Kean Curtis, Jake Debler, Parker English, Stephanie Gingerich, Carson Humphrey, Adelyn Huston, Caedyn Huston, Averi Janecek, Kinzlee Kiefer, Blake Malichky, Bo Pennington, Harlee West, and Jason Yoder. They were accompanied by FFA Advisor Elsa Schmidt and Chapter President Gabi Robertson.

The Greenhand Fire Up Conference is held annually, with the goal of engaging FFA members in learning about the tools that will help them be successful in anything they are a part of through high school and beyond.
