Last week, the Alliant Energy Foundation announced that it has raised $515,000 to support programs that fight hunger and food insecurity in Iowa and Wisconsin. This is the largest amount raised in the 17 years of their annual Drive Out Hunger event.
Funds raised will be distributed to seven food banks, serving 105 counties where Alliant Energy Provides Service. This includes HACAP, which serves Washington, Iowa, and Johnson counties, as well as Food Bank of Iowa, which serves Jefferson, Henry, and Louisa counties.
Drive Out Hunger, which is typically held during Hunger Action Month in September, has raised over $5.9 million and provided over 20 million meals. To learn more about the event, or the Alliant Energy Foundation, click here.
