Last week, the Iowa Department of Education released the latest Iowa School Performance Profiles.
In the Washington Community School District, Lincoln Elementary School and Stewart Elementary School both received commendable ratings overall of 55.77. Washington Middle School rated at 50.05 and the High School received a rating of 53.78, both acceptable. The State average was 54.81.
Schools are examined in terms of multiple accountability measures such as academic achievement in math and language arts, student growth based on state assessments, graduation rate, and conditions for learning. Other metrics detailed in the profiles include attendance, staff retention, and suspensions or expulsions.
