It’s starting to feel like 1999 in Winfield, as Wolves football earned a trip to the UNI-Dome Thursday night in a gritty, 34-29 win over Don Bosco.

It was the first road playoff game for this Winfield-Mt. Union team, who grinded out the victory in Gilbertville despite a banged-up roster. It was also the tightest contest for the undefeated Wolves this season, as an interception in the closing seconds punched their ticket to Cedar Falls.

WMU’s postseason path saw them cruise by Belle Plaine and Moravia in the opening rounds. Now in the final four, the top-ranked Wolves have a date with number-four Bishop Garrigan, the winner advancing to the 8-man State Championship Game.

Facing another quick turnaround, the Wolves and Golden Bears face off on Wednesday, November 8. KCII will have live coverage on all signals and streams, beginning with pregame coverage at 9:30 a.m. Kickoff between WMU and Bishop Garrigan is at 10 a.m. from the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
