Sigourney-Keota continued their excellence on the football field with another great season, and what carried the Cobras to a fourth straight district championship was earning an impressive 21 selections for all-district in Class 1A District 6.

That includes senior Kale Clarahan, who has been named a first-team running back after a breakthrough season where he rushed for just under 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns. Three of his starting offensive linemen join Clarahan on the first team, as SK seniors Evan Vittetoe, Conner Strand and Brock Alderson helped pave the way for over 295 yards per game on the ground.

Senior Sawyer Stout makes the first-team offense as a utility player. As the starting quarterback for Sigourney-Keota, Stout ran for 489 yards and eight TDs and passed for 660 yards and another nine scores.

On defense, senior Jake Moore is a first-team linebacker with 41 tackles and two interceptions. Senior Cole Kindred picked off four passes and makes the first team as a defensive back, while senior lineman Aiden McGuire is also a first-teamer after piling up team highs of 43-and-a-half total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.

Junior Issac Bruns returned three kickoffs for touchdowns this season and is a first-team selection as a returner, while junior Caden Clarahan was District 6’s first-team choice for both punter and kicker. Clarahan averaged over 35 yards per punt and went 32 of 36 on extra-point kicks as well as three of four on field goals.

The rest of the Cobra offensive line in junior Billie Kindred and sophomore Owen Menke are second-team selections, while senior Hunter Sieren and juniors Ashton Schwab and Brady Clark are on the second-team defense.

Senior Chase Sieren and juniors Jace Chalupa and Brody Greiner earn honorable mentions, while seniors Reid Molyneux and Dylan Renner receive Gold Awards for being injured this season after making all-district in 2022. In addition to a fourth straight district title, SK went 8-2 overall this season.
