Washington County Hospital and Clinics is announcing that they are implementing a new electronic health record. They will be transitioning to Epic on November 11. Nationally, Epic impacts about 70% of patients who receive care on an annual basis. Moving towards Epic will make accessing care and health information easier for patients, family members, and healthcare providers. Epic will consolidate the WCHC medical record system into a single organizational-wide system that also interacts with other hospitals and uses a single patient portal, MyChart. With the new software, patients will be able to see medications, test results, upcoming appointments, medical bills, and more, all in one place. WCHC patients will be able to access information from other local organizations such as UI Health Care and Jefferson County Health Center as well as other organizations that use Epic.
