The Keota Eagles recaptured some of the momentum from a 5-0 start to the 2023 volleyball season by playing well late in the year as well, and three of their top players have been recognized for leading that charge by receiving all-conference honors in the South Iowa Cedar League.

That includes junior Kimberly Clarahan, who is a second-team selection at libero. Clarahan was a leader of the Keota defense and piled up 406 digs this season, the most in the SICL East division and third-most overall in the conference. But the junior was also a well-rounded offensive player, finishing the season with 42 kills and 44 serving aces.

Cassie Swantz was the Eagles’ lone senior and earns an honorable mention after her all-around effort, posting 65 kills, 142 assists, 48 aces and 207 digs. Junior Lainey Swanson was Keota’s other setter alongside Swantz and also receives an honorable mention after dishing out 97 assists and adding 45 aces and 153 digs. The Eagles went 3-7 in conference play this season and were 10-14 overall.
