On the eleventh day of the eleventh month at 11 a.m. the City of Brighton is holding a Veterans Day Ceremony to honor all who have served.
The ceremony will be held at the Washington County Freedom Rock, located at 206 East Fountain Street in Brighton. The rock itself pays tribute to the rich military history and service in the State of Iowa. Sue Rich, Head of Veterans Affairs will speak, recognizing the sacrifices of our servicemen and women. A poetic reading is to follow, and John Harris will close the ceremony with a playing of Taps.
Anyone interested in joining the Brighton Veterans Day Ceremony should meet at the Washington County Freedom Rock by 11 a.m. Saturday.
