The transition from fall to winter sports is complete as of today on the athletics calendar at Mid-Prairie High School. Monday marks the first official practice for the boys basketball teams and wrestling teams.
Practice for girls basketball and wrestling began on November 6th. The high school archery team also held their first practice last week.
The Mid-Prairie girls basketball team has live action Tuesday. The Hawks travel to Pekin for a jamboree where they will meet the Cardinal Comets. They return home Friday to take on the WACO Warriors in a boy/girl doubleheader Hall of Pride Scrimmage that you can hear on AM 1380, FM 102.5, the KCII2 app and KCIIradio.com, before officially opening the season November 21st hosting Fairfield.
For the Golden Hawk boys hoops team, following their tuneup against WACO, they’ll host their own jamboree scrimmage night Monday, November 20th against Eddyville-Blakesburg, before tipping off the year against the Benton Bobcats in Wellman on the 28th.
The Mid-Prairie girls wrestling team starts their season tomorrow night at the North Scott Tournament. The Golden Hawk boys wrestlers are first on the mat Monday, November 27th when they travel to Eddyville-Blakesburg.
The Mid-Prairie sharp shooters open the tournament season at Washington on December 2nd.
