The Washington City Council approved the naming of an Assistant Chief of Emergency Medical Service at their meeting on Tuesday. Fire Chief Brendan DeLong gives some more details, “Previous Assistant Chief Carrie has decided to resign, and therefore conducted this search and we have, her name is Lacey Porter, she is from Colorado, moved back here, has roots down here in Washington so, is an ER nurse out here, I believe overnights, so she is very qualified.”  Assistant Chief of EMS is a management position under the direction of the Fire Chief and or Deputy Chief, responsible for the administration and coordination of the activities, personnel, and resources of the Emergency Medical Services Divisions of the Department.
