Nov 17th is Pink Friday, and consumers are encouraged to shop local first and support the small businesses that grow the community all year long. KCII spoke with Main Street Washington Executive Director Samantha Meyer to learn more about Pink Friday, “An annual event that encourages you to shop locally before you shop big box stores, but it’s at least to encourage you to look first downtown on Pink Friday. Our shops really get excited about it and it’s pink and it’s fun, and so a lot of them are doing a free pink drink while you are shopping, extra discounts, there’s going to be pink bows on the doors so you know who is participating.” Be on the look for special holiday discount tokens that Main Street Elves will be passing out at random to downtown shoppers.
