A Brooklyn, Iowa man who is currently being held in the Washington County Jail on fraud and forgery charges has had another warrant issued out of Linn County.

According to court documents, 38-year-old Jeremy Andrew James stole checks from his previous employer, B and L Concrete out of Keota. James then forged three of those checks, cashing one of them at Federation Bank in Washington on August 17. He was charged with three counts of forgery, a class D felony, two counts of third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor, and one count of theft in the fourth degree, a serious misdemeanor. He was arrested in Poweshiek County in October. 

This week, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office reported having a separate warrant for James. The charges include first-degree burglary, a class B felony, going armed with intent, a class D felony, control of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon, a class D felony, second-degree theft, also a class D felony, assault with intent to inflict serious injury, an aggravated misdemeanor, and first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor.

For these charges, a $150,000 cash-only bond has been issued, and James will be extradited to Linn County when he is done serving the local charges.
