The Sigourney Savages found their footing to finish last season near the top of the South Iowa Cedar League in girls’ basketball, and head coach Schay Moore will have a number of the top players back from a squad that went 10-5 in conference play and 16-8 overall.

Among those returners is senior Carly Goodwin and junior Josephine Moore. Goodwin averaged almost 12 points, four rebounds and three-and-a-half steals per game last season, while Moore put up nearly 10 points and seven rebounds per contest as a sophomore.

While Sigourney will need to replace starters like Rain Barthelman and Zoe Webb, junior Ava Fisch and seniors Amiya Smallwood, Erin Dawson and Ava Fineran are back and will be featured parts of the rotation for the Savages, which begin the new season November 27th by taking on conference rival Moravia.
