The Washington County Board of Supervisors held a discussion at their last meeting regarding the IT operations for the County. After some debate about whether the subject should be discussed in closed session or by a committee, Jack Seward Jr.shared his thoughts, “As far as I’m concerned, there would be no official action taken by this board without the input of the department heads and the other elected officials. But I don’t see any reason to not have the discussions about how the general direction of an IT Department goes outside of the public eye. So I would not be in favor of moving these discussions to a committee-type setting that would not be available to the general public.” There will be a new IT committee formed that will be attending an upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting to discuss the IT Department.
