Three local players have earned more postseason honors for their efforts on the volleyball court this season by being named All-Southeast District in Class 1A by the by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

Among that trio is Sigourney outside hitter Amiya Smallwood. The senior led the Savages with 187 kills and added 31 serving aces and 262 digs to help Sigourney finish second place in the South Iowa Cedar League and reach the Class 1A Region 5 semifinals.

Winfield-Mount Union is represented on the all-district team by a pair of their top players. Outside hitter Audrie Gipple led the Wolves with 200 kills while also piling up 19 aces, 174 digs and 19 blocks. Fellow senior Aurey Meeker was an all-around force at setter, handing out a team-high 274 assists to go with 39 kills, 37 aces and 177 digs to power WMU to a second-place finish in the North division of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference.
