As the 21st KCII Caring Christmas Food Drive continues this holiday season, West Liberty Foods recently made a huge contribution to ensure food-insecure families are provided for.
Approximately $6,000 worth of fully-cooked frozen turkey breast lobes were donated to nearly a dozen food banks and organizations in southeast Iowa. These include Community Action of Southeast Iowa out of Columbus Junction, The Fellowship Cup of Mt. Pleasant, Holy Family Parish of Riverside, United Church of Faith of Keota, The Lighthouse Center-Tribulation and Trust Ministry of Washington, HACAP of Washington County, Asbury United Methodist Church of Wellman, The Lord’s Cupboard of Fairfield, and The Lord’s Pantry of Sigourney.
Each location received between 30-40 of these turkeys to deliver to the people they serve. Washington Hy-Vee served as the pick-up spot. To make your own contribution to the KCII Caring Christmas Food Drive, visit KCIIradio.com/donate or call in during the Day of Giving Live Radiothon on Wednesday, December 13.
