As December creeps closer, the City of Wellman, the Wellman Community Club, and multiple local partners are embracing the Christmas spirit by holding the third annual Light the Night event on Saturday, November 25.

Beginning at 4:30 p.m. in downtown Wellman, the evening includes a variety of family-friendly activities along with refreshments. Polar express barrel rides, cookie decorating, crafts, s’mores, music, and games are just some of the opportunities for guests who attend. The event runs until 7 p.m. with Santa making an appearance at 5 p.m. to light the tree.

Heather Trimpe, President of the Wellman Community Club tells KCII that the hope for this event is for it to continue to grow each year. “Last year was very low key. We just had pictures with Santa, a chance for you to enjoy hot cocoa and a cookie, and listen to Christmas music. So we are trying to amp it up this year and each year we’d like to add something new.”

There is no cost to attend the Wellman Light the Night event and guests are welcome any time between 4:30 and 7.
