Three KCII area girls wrestling teams were on the mat Monday at the West Liberty Girls Wrestling Invitational.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks had the best finish in the team race, taking third of 15 schools with 144 points. The Comets won their home tournament with 205. The Hawks had one champ on the day, Ashlee Farrier was dominant, pinning her way to the top of the podium, spending less than three total minutes on the mat in four bouts. She captured the crown with a 28 second fall in the finals over Jocelyn Richardson of Durant. Other highlights for the Hawks included Mardie Berry runner-up and Ellie Brenneman third.

The Highland Huskies were eighth in the team field with 86 points. Angelina Roling was a force, posting a 3-0 record to claim gold, including a fall in 1:15 in the championship match against Hallie Portwood of Alburnett. Abbie Grout and Lilly Barre were both runners-up for the Huskies.

The WACO Warriors were 11th with 59 points. Rylee Rice had the top finish, placing third.
