On Saturday at 12:33 pm the Iowa State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle wreck in the 31500 block of 323rd Ave in Keokuk County near Richland. A 2017 Chevy Silverado driven by 47-year-old Kathy Wagamon  of Brighton was traveling northbound when a 2019 Ford XPL driven by 79-year-old Marsha Patterson of West Chester was traveling southbound. Wagamon crossed the centerline striking Patterson head-on. As a result of the collision, a passenger in the Ford, 82-year-old Frank Patterson of West Chester was killed.  Marsha Patterson received injuries and was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics by Air Care transport. Wagamon also sustained injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to the University Hospital by the Keokuk County Ambulance Service. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Keokuk County Sheriff’s Office, Keokuk County Medical Examiner and Ambulance Services, Richland Fire Department, and Washington County Ambulance Service.
