The City of Keota is getting in the holiday spirit this weekend with the Christmas in Keota event. Activities for all ages will be available throughout town on Saturday, December 2.

Festivities kick off at 9 a.m. with the Craft & Vendor Fair at the Holy Trinity Parish Hall. Hosted by the Keota Eagle Advocates, guests can shop more than 25 booths for gifts and holiday crafts until 2 p.m. There is a $2 fee to enter, with proceeds going towards a new playground at Keota Elementary School.

For the younger guests, Santa and Mrs. Claus are going to be at the Wilson Memorial Library from 9 to 11 a.m. Crafts, cookies, and drinks will be available, followed by a free movie at noon. Carriage rides will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. with pick-up and drop-off located west of the Christmas Tree.

Activities continue into the afternoon, with the Keota Historical Museum open from 4-7 p.m. At the same time, a Christmas Soup Supper is to be held, provided by Schmitty’s.

Santa and Mrs. Claus make their way downtown at 6 p.m. for caroling and the tree lighting. This will be followed by bingo at the VFW at 7 p.m. along with another free movie at the City Hall Community Room.
