Earlier this fall, the Iowa Department of Education released its Performance Profiles for school districts across the State. 

There were many positives out of the Sigourney Community School District, highlighted by a high-performing 60.66 overall rating for the Junior/Senior High School. Sigourney Elementary received a commendable rating with a score of 57.03. The State average is 54.81. 

These profiles evaluate schools on a number of criteria, many of which showed the Sigourney CSD to be above the average. Sigourney surpassed the State average in assessment participation, English and math achievement, conditions for learning, graduation rates, English and math growth, English and math proficiency, and overall post-secondary readiness.
