Following the retirement of their K9 Karma after five years of service, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office announced the addition of a new K9, Drake.
Deputy Nick Davis had been training with Drake in Ohio for the last month, before Drake was officially sworn in by Sheriff Brad Turner on November 21. He is a one-year-old yellow lab that has been trained and certified in a broad spectrum of narcotics detection and human trafficking. The K9 team of Deputy Davis and Drake will also assist School Resource Deputies in all Louisa County Schools.
As Drake begins his career in law enforcement, he and Deputy Davis will participate in continued training to best assist the Sheriff’s Office and other agencies.
