U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley spoke with KCII News about how Iowa sheriff’s reports are showing widespread impacts of the open border. “Well, first of all, the motive behind it was this: we always talk about border situations and people illegally entering our country, being a Texas or California or Arizona problem, but it’s a problem for all fifty states. And particularly when the cartels are involved in people paying the cartels to get to the border and then to come into our country illegally. I wanted to know the impact of the cartels, so I wrote to the ninety-nine county Sheriffs to get a judgment from each one of the ninety-nine counties. So I heard from Sheriffs that the extent of Fentanyl is a very very major problem. I wanted to hear it directly from the people that enforce the law, and obviously, these sheriffs would like to have the border shut down and have President Biden enforcing our immigration laws.” Grassley is pushing federal agencies to strengthen their response to drug and human trafficking cartel operations in the United States.
