KCII News spoke with U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley about his staff holding traveling office hours across Iowa in November. “I want to know what’s going on in Iowa more than just when I go visit those counties. So I do have my staff in Iowa go to each county at least twice a year, and one of those meetings is just to listen to anybody that wants to come and meet with them. We hear about the high price of prescription drugs. We hear about people illegally entering our country because President Biden is not enforcing the laws. We hear from farmers about when is it going to be a new five-year farm bill. We hear about the high cost of gasoline, which obviously now in recent days has been going down quite a little bit. Then I think we hear about the problems of local agricultural prices as an example. So, I’m not sure how much other things we hear, but those are the things that we hear the most often.” Grassley has staff hold these traveling office hours to hear directly from Iowans seeking assistance regarding a personal issue with a federal agency or wishing to share views on matters of federal policy.
