The annual tradition returns to Columbus Junction tomorrow with the Family Night, hosted by the Columbus Community Club.
All festivities take place in downtown Columbus Junction from 5-7 p.m. The free event includes a scavenger hunt for kids and adults, where they must locate the hidden elf at a number of main street businesses. Prizes will be awarded to the winners. There will also be carolers, cookie decorating, and a soup supper fundraiser put on by the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.
The Family Night will see a pair of special guests in attendance as well, as Santa Claus will be at Washington State Bank and the Grinch will be at Community Bank.
Todd Salazar, one of the event’s organizers, spoke with KCII about the Family Night, and encourages anyone who hasn’t been to check it out. “They really should experience it, come downtown and go through all the businesses. Last year the streets were packed with people and it was really good to see. It’s really family fun with no cost.”
This will be the 35th year of the Columbus Junction Family Night, which was first held in 1987.
