The season opening archery meet for the Washington Demons and Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks was a success Saturday at the Demon Den.

The Washington sharpshooters won both high school team championships. The Demon high school team fired a 3247 bullseye team score to top Marion’s 3227. Gabrielle Andrew was individual girls champion with her round of 283 that included 16 tens. Other Demon top 10 girls included Madison Conway sixth and Lily Brown seventh. The Washington boys were led by Tyler Alderton fifth with a score of 273 and 11 tens. Other Demon top 10 boys included Ethen Mesch seventh, Braydon Clough ninth and Layne Moore 10th. The high schoolers won the 3D championship with a 1633 score, beating Marion’s 1615. Andrew swept gold on the girls side with her 286 and 20 tens. Other Washington top 10 girls included Johannah Halvorson third, Hannah Lipski fourth, Emma Helfrich sixth, Destiney Moyer ninth and Kamryn Williams 10th. Alderton led the Washington boys in fourth with 270 that included 11 tens. Other top 10 Demon boys included Mesch fifth, Ethan Hotchkiss sixth, Blaine Hodson ninth and Jace Sanders 10th.

The Washington middle schoolers were runners-up in both bullseye and 3D team races with scores of 3076 and 1540, behind Mid-Prairie’s 3092 and 1554 respectively. Zach Hotchkiss won the boys bullseye title with a 268 that included nine tens. Other top 10 Demons included Caden Higdon fifth, Isaiah Halvorson seventh, and Braxton Rich 10th. For the Washington girls Charlee Read was the leader in the runner-up spot with a 266 and five tens. Other top ten Demons included Madalyn Roundy third, Emma Alderton sixth, Eva Torres ninth and Sophie Wittmayer 10th. In 3D, The Demon’s Hunter Barnes won the individual boys title with a 274 and 17 tens. Other Washington top 10 boys archers included Grant Berdo third, Mason Pierce sixth, Jace Helfrich seventh, Jordan Thorius ninth and Zach Hotchkiss 10th. For the Washington girls, Charlee Read was champ with a 276 and 12 tens. Other top 10 Demons included Harley Venenga fifth, and Madalyn Roundy 10th.

For the Lincoln Demons, they had team scores of 2446 in bull and 1089 in 3D. Addyson Neer was girls bullseye champion with a 231 and five tens. Other top 10 Demon girls included Jeslynn Stuart runner-up, Aly Black third, Aaliyah Palacios fifth, Kenzie Vargas eighth, Kaylee McFarland ninth and Ziva Laws 10th. For the boys Jack Charlier was individual champ with a 229. Other Washington top tens included Gabriel Frost runner-up, Korbin DeWitt fifth, Carter Higdon sixth, Lawson Love seventh, Dante Witham eighth, and Jayse Thorius ninth. In 3D, Addyson Neer also won the girls title with a 212 and three tens. Other top 10 Demon girls included Aaliyah Palacios third, Ziva Laws fourth, and Kenzie Vargas fifth. For the boys Gabriel Frost won the title with a 211 and three tens. Other top ten Demon boys were Jack Charlier runner-up, Lawson Love third, Austin Boone fourth, Logan Hotckiss fifth, Dante Witham sixth, Jayse Thorius seventh, and Krew Liska 10th.

The Mid-Prairie high school team placed fourth in bullseye and third in 3D with scores of 3116 and 1494 respectively. Morgyn Nafziger was third for the Golden Hawk girls with her 279 and 14 tens. Eli Conrad led the Golden Hawk boys in 16th with a 264 and 12 tens. In 3D, Nafziger was the top Mid-Prairie girl in eighth with a 257 and eight tens, Tate Bombei had the top boys score in 11th with a 253 and 12 tens.

The Golden Hawk middle schoolers swept team gold, taking the bullseye title with a score of 3092 and 3D with a 1554. Lael Seale was the individual girls bullseye champ with a 275 and 11 tens. Other Mid-Prairie top 10 girls included Lara Brenneman fourth, and Fiona McClellen fifth. Top boys performance was Morgan Northup runner-up with a 266 and nine tens. He was followed by other top tens from Cole Troyer in third, Nickolas Kelley fourth, Levi Luers eighth, and Preston Ford ninth. In 3D, Lael Seale was the top Hawk with a runner-up 268 that included 11 tens. Other top tens included Fiona McClellen third, and Lara Brenneman sixth. For the boys, Noah Coblentz was runner-up with a 264 and 11 tens. Other top ten Golden Hawk boys were Morgan Northup fourth, Nickolas Kelley fifth, and Preston Ford eighth.

Top shooters for the elementary Hawks included Joshua Seale third for boys bullseye with a 226 and two tens followed by David Popejoy in fourth. Blair Northup had the top girls finish, sixth with a 179 and one ten, followed by Marin Northup seventh. In 3D, Adric McClellen was 11th with a 131.
