The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls wrestling team had a full day of action Saturday at the BGM dual tournament. The Golden Hawks wrestled four duals, winning two. The Hawks took down Colfax-Mingo 48-30. Against the Tigerhawks, Mid-Prairie got wins in contested matches from Austin Sexton at 115lbs by fall, Addyson Asher at 125 by fall, Ellie Brenneman at 140 by fall, and Mardie Berry at 155 by fall.
The Hawks also scored a team win over Nevada 40-30. The Golden Hawks had wins in contested matches from Sexton at 115lbs by fall, Asher at 125 by 15-14 decision, Madison Reinier at 130 by 8-1 decision, Sophie Miller at 135 by 13-3 major decision, Ellie Callahan at 170 by fall and Sam Stacey at 235 by fall.
Mid-Prairie was edged out by Marshalltown 39-36. The Hawks got a win from Sophie Miller at 135lbs by fall. Mid-Prairie was also beaten by Gilbert 42-39 despite wins in contested matches from Sexton at 115lbs by fall, Brenneman at 140 by fall, Berry at 155 by 4-2 decision and Sam Stacey at 235 by fall.
After the 2-2 weekend, the Hawks will be back in action at the Vinton-Shellsburg Tournament Saturday.
