Just after 11 a.m. on Sunday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call, reporting an SUV-type pickup missing a curve and rolling off Highway 22 in Riverside.

The vehicle came to a rest near a residential yard, and upon responding to the scene, crews noticed a propane tank in the yard was leaking. The call for service log did not specify whether the vehicle incident was the cause for the leak.

The driver of the vehicle, Leonard Rozmus of Kalona, faces charges of operating while intoxicated-second offense, and failure to maintain control, pending DCI lab results. One subject was transported via Air Care, although the CFS log was unclear about who that individual was, or where they were taken.

An accident report is to be filed by the Iowa State Patrol. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the call by Riverside Fire & QRS, Kalona Fire & QRS, the Department of Natural Resources, and Air Care.
