The Lone Tree Lions earned a pair of home basketball victories Thursday over Cedar Valley Christian. The Lone Tree girls raced out to a commanding 27-2 lead by the end of the first quarter and went on to win 63-7, earning their third straight win and improving to 6-1.

The Lions were paced in scoring by sophomore Finley Jacque’s game-high 24 points, and the second-year guard also had five steals on defense. Sophomore Ava Christofferson came off the bench to provide nine points and five steals, while junior point guard Vivian Zaruba had five steals as well and added seven points and eight rebounds.

The Lone Tree boys doubled an early 18-12 lead to a 12-point advantage by halftime and would hold serve down the stretch for a 55-39 victory. Emmett Burke knocked down five three-pointers and scored a game-high 17 points for the Lions, while fellow sophomore Domonic Garcia poured in 16 points and seniors Ethan Bockelman and Pietro Setti had eight each for Lone Tree, which is now 3-2.
